Example 1
This design was developed over time alongside the Client’s rebuilding of the house. The materials complement those used on the house and the planting is set in bold strips giving a changing view as you move around the space. Every view point has been considered. Where new materials can add something to the design it is sought out. The deck here is made of wood chip and recycled plastic and allowed a colour to closely match the window frames of the house.

Example 2
This traditional setting has had a unique twist with the paving using curves echoing the client’s love of Art Deco. The change in level has been used as an opportunity to create a tiered lawn leading the eye seamlessly up to the rest of the garden therefore creating a more contemporary garden design.

Example 3 – Sustainable New Build
This new sustainable contemporary home and its garden were designed alongside one another enabling more opportunities to be as environmental as possible. Water from the roof is used in a wildlife pond and as a dipping pool for the vegetable area. While spoil from the paths and other building works created a ribbon of banks sown with wild flowers to reflect the surrounding South downs. A band of prairie plants have been planted to run across and through the bank to provide a splash of colour filling the gap between the native spring and summer wildflowers. These plants are still establishing after their first year saw extremes weather patterns in every season which hindered their start but will give a bigger display in the years to come.
