WILD FLOWERS

Wildlife friendly principles can easily be incorporated into any garden, often at the same time as solving a problem, and without compromising a strong design.

wild flower meadow
A mature ivy was retained when the tree supporting it was removed. This was shaped into a large shrub to provide the latest flowers for butterflies and early berries for the birds in spring.
native planting
attracting wildlife
Rather than moving this pile of rubble it was graded and sown with a wild flower grass mix along with native bulbs. Year one needed careful attention, but now it is a low maintenance area, giving a splash of nature within a traditional garden design.

tree preservation order winter flowers The tree roots could not be disturbed so it was under planted with native bulbs and shade tolerant grass. In February the first snowdrops sprang up beneath the flowering cherry. The show will get better every year.
